My Birthday

On April the 15 2020 was my 10th birthday. My birthday was cool and a bit weird for me because I was in quarantine because of COVID 19. I got some really cool presents. My two sisters made me some presents. They got one of their journals and put some baby photos of me in there as well as writing saying happy birthday to me. They also made me another big card full of baby photos. They gave me a giant chocolate egg and my little sister who helped as well gave me a card for 20 bucks. My oldest sister gave me some makeup platelets and some lip balms. They both did the cards and the baby photos for me. My nanny gave me 50 bucks and put it in my bank account. My mum made me breakfast in bed. It was eggs on toast with a nice and warm hot chocolate. It was the best day. Tonight my mum had the best idea since McDonald's is closed because of COVID 19 she decided to make homemade McDonalds! She said I got to choose a frozen drink or milkshake. I said frozen drink so she will be making that for us tonight. I love my bday and it is only the start.

Happy Birthday Kylah. Thank you for sharing all about your special day. It sounded like you had a great time. And having homemade Mcdonalds tonight, yummy! It will taste better than the real thing. Teacher Tip: Remember to double check that you have included capital letters in all the right places. You could use the read/write tool and listen to and read your writing before publishing it. This will help you spot where they are missing. I helped you with a little editing today. Keep blogging.

Happy birthday for the 15th of April, Kylah. It sounds like your family did an amazing job of spoiling you on your special day. The homemade McDonalds sound amazing, and I am in agreement with Jo that they will taste better than the real thing.

About Me

Hello, my name is Kylah and I go to Owairaka District Primary School. I am in Year 6 and learn in Room 8. I am part Samoan and Maori. My hobbies are art, dance and running. My interests are athletics and sports. I have 6 siblings and live with four sister's whose names are Acelynn, Azaria, Savina, Nevaeh. I am good at writing independently because I know the method of spelling things out and I am good at my maths like problem-solving and knowing my basic facts. I also enjoy reading and I am very, very good at catching the ball and running. My challenges for this year is getting better at writing by staying focused and writing for longer. I enjoy doing fitness every day in the morning and doing Core 5 or other online learning activities after. I am looking forwards to athletics and cross country. My personal achievements are getting better at running and doing more writing at home to get better. The person that inspires me is my mum because she always tells me even though you can’t do something yet you could still try and maybe one day you could achieve it. The other person that also inspires me is my friends because they always help me do something that I can't do like singing. I'm really bad at and they said just practice and sing often and soon it will get better.
